Figure Studies

This collection of figure drawings are from full day Saturday sessions at Artists 25, a non-profit art studio in Little Portugal, Toronto. These sessions were usually accompanied by a trip (or two) to the local bakery for fresh coffee and pastries to keep me, and the models, going the entire day.

To make the commute easier, I chose the ballpoint pen and cotton paper as my weapons. The combination of feathered blue and black ink creates a beautiful contrast for shadows and texture.
